Hi,
I have a Omen 15 laptop and sometimes when i press the power button nothing happens, literaly nothing, not even the light turns on or any fans at all. It happens very rarely and has never happened twice in a row. Once it happened also when it was on, i pressed the power button and it didn't respond.
Can this be a physical glitch on the button or something? Or should i worry about a hardware issue?

i will try this
First:- Turn off the computer, press and hold the PWR button for 4 seconds.
Then - Leave only keyboard and mouse connected, disconnect all externally connected
devices such as Docking Station, USB storage devices, displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
Next - Press and Hold the Power button for 15 seconds to Hard Reset.
AND/OR - Power on your PC, press Esc (repeatedly), then F2 at the prompt.
Choose System Tests (Fast Test does a 4 minute hardware check).
AND/OR - Windows Logo key + Ctrl + Shift + B
AND/OR - If you’re using multiple displays, try projecting video to a different monitor.
Press the Windows Logo key + P, select a display, and then press Enter.

I did not use my notebook for 2 years and I forgot BIOS password. I do not see any password or code on my screen after three bad attempts.

For that model you will need to contact HP in your region and they should be able to send you a customized SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.

When talking to the HP rep ask them to escalate your service request.
Just to note:
Do not try removing the RTC/BIOS battery. As it will not remove the password, but it may reset the clock and as SMC files are time coded, a large disparity between the system clock and the time encoded in the SMC may cause it to fail.

The laptop works fine if charged, but it is completely dead now. and charging does not work. As mentioned before there does seem to have been a loose connection somewhere at the charging port earlier, used to charge sometimes. Now since the last week or so, it is not charging at all. seems like the last strand of the connection wire may also have been broken.
Replacement charger also does not work at all, so not a charger problem, seems like some disconnect in the charging port internally.

Try (re)installing {kind of repairing) Drive Encryption.

Drive Encryption is a separate product but is managed through HP Client Security. Once reinstalled, restart the Windows and then open Client Security to see if Drive Encryption / Drive Security options appear there
The bootable screen you see is preboot authentication (PBA) and it is usually disabled from HP Client Security (Home) > Advanced Settings > Security Features

Hello, I have a problem with my HP 15D003-SL notebook. About 1 month ago I upgraded internal storage, removing physical hard disk and putting a Crucial 240GB SSD. Everything was working fine, but today the notebook didn't boot up. I did a hard drive "quick" check using "HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI" and SMART check failed, and I have a 24 numbers code error, with the following FAILURE ID : U4PBTF-75C9B9-MFKR61-60AU03. Any suggestion would be very appreciated
