Hi

 

If you have a BSOD, then you are probably past the POST (Power On Self Test) and into OS territory.

Step 3 is either the Recovery area on your HDD, or make your own....

and go via the repair screen  (LO-Cost/NO-Cost option) ...

You can do  a clean install with the above (less the HP software), it is possible that you have a hardware problem.

Your HDD could be failing, and need replacing.

Unlocking from Hp Protect Tools

I was trying to use Hp protect tools and scanned fingerprints and gave a password. Then it asked for a restart to apply the changes. After restart it is asking for the fingerprints twice and in first time,it is verfied and second time it says that "Your fingerprints are not enrolled". Please help me to log on.

Yes . It will go to the login screen even though it takes forever but once you put in your password it just spins and never opens up windows

I Did notice if I press control alt delete it will pop up the task manager and once I get into there it won’t let me pull up file locations Control panel pretty much anything I can get from there it just will not open up windows and let me do anything other than that

i turn on my chromebook it says on the screen

chrome os is missing or damaged.
please insert a RECOVERY USB stick or SD card.

i pressed ctrl+alt+t (doesnt work nothing happen)
i pressed ctrl+alt+shift+r (doesnt work)
i pressed esc+refersh+power then ctrl+d it work to turn on / or turn off the verification but the rest doesnt work even i used esc+refersh + power for ctrl+alt+t or r doesnt work nothing happen.
on the screen just i can see chrome os is missing or damaged. please inseet.......
if i insert USB it give me error as i mention in my first post. please helped me what to do ?

Pavilion dv6 stops in movie and then continues this happens every 3 mins.

Hello

 

When i'm watching a movie as in Netflix then every 3 mins the movie stops and you here the fans spooling up.

Then my comp went very hot.

Anyone a clue

Hi there,

 

So i got this laptop HP Notebook 15-ay002nq. It's not my laptop so I don't know exactly what OS but I can find out if necessary.

 

So i've tried https://bios-pw.org/ but the code doesn't work and to mention i've used the (i in front of the code and also the code itself). None of the both codes generated by the website worked.

 

System Disable Code : i 59057824

 

Please let me know if I can do anything else to get rid of the password.

I am having the same issue with HP 255 g1 ,its asking for an Administrator's passowrd and it gives me this number 66321182 .I am trying to solve the boot device not found error but i cant even get into bios because of the Administrator passoword required

HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab254sa Black Screen

Hello,

 

My Laptop doesn't seem to be booting correctly as the screen remains black.

 

Plugging the AC Power into the laptop; The light next to the AC Port Flashes Orange - White - Orange - Then remains on a static white light.

 

When pressing the power button the screen looks as if it dims to black, I can hear the HDD Spin and some slight noise if Listened closely. The Power Button light remains white and the AC Port LED continiousally flashes between white and off.

 

The laptop does nothing from this point.

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

 

You don't say HOW you are connecting to Netflix on the Internet -- wired networking or WiFi.

 

If WiFi, that is not going to work as the DV6 does not connect to 5G.  I have one myself, and I have to use a WiFi bridge and then connect wired to it to get decent Internet speeds such that buffering does not halt video streaming.

My HP hard drive crashed within the first year, yet I was assured it was replaced as it was still under warranty. I had sent it to HP following all of the instructions I was given, and it was returned several weeks later. Unfortunately, one month later, I received a warning that the smart drive failed. I took this HP laptop to a local computer repair company and was informed the HARD DRIVE WAS NEVER REPLACED! HP reportedly did not repair my laptop at all. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE AN HP COMPUTER AGAIN!

When was the last time the computer was working fine?         One Month Beafore posting the query

Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?

        Yes I tried installing ubantu removing windows.

 

How do you turn off your computer?

        Beafore the problem arised the normal shutdown was enough. But after problem inspite of shutting down i have to forcefully press power button for a  few seconds to turn it off

 

Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

Yes according to your suggestion I updated the bios and the chipset driver  but it didnot helped.

I recently bought an HP Pavilion 15 laptop that identifies itself as HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cc5xx. It runs Windows 10 Home 64. I am very disappointed with it, as it is a 7th Gen Core i5 with 8 gigs RAM but I find it quite slow, and it freezes constantly for no reason I can determine. However, I digress. I am trying to find out how I can access the BIOS on this laptop. All the docs I can find say to press F10 during startup, but that doesn't do anything. I just end up at the Windows screen. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post. 

 

I understand that your computer is not booting to the desktop, is that right?

Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.

Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you. 

Have you made any hardware changes on your computer?

Do you see any lights blinking when you try to power on your computer?

 

Please disconnect any devices connected to your computer. 

If you have any USB or DVD in the computer, please disconnect it.

Perform a power reset on the computer. Click here for assistance. 

Disconnect the adapter, remove the battery (if it can be removed)

Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to drain the static in the computer. 

Connect the adapter and battery to the computer. 

Turn the computer ON while holding the Win + B key. (hold these 2 keys for more than 10 seconds, let go of the power button alone)

Try this twice.

If rolling back BIOS does not work. 

Please contact our phone support for the service options.

Hi:

 

On most of these new PC's you have to tap the ESC key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen and then you will get a list of options.

 

From that list, select the F10 system setup option to get access to the BIOS.

my HP Pavilion x2 - 12-b020nr does not boot when power button is pressed. Tried hard reset (pressing power button for 10 sec) but no result. Battery is full and charging.

 

please help to recover

IF the computer eventually boots (even ten minutes later)

THEN

The following will likely fix the problem:
