Re: не работает клавиатура в BIOS, но работает в Windows

in Windows all the buttons work, including the functional buttons (F1-F12). In BIOS, when I connect a USB keyboard, it works too. Basically, I do not really need the BIOS itself, like the boot menu. I have a 2nd OS (Linux) because of my problem I can not work in it. The problem itself was found when installing Linux, trying to boot from a flash drive. Perhaps this information will also be useful: to install Linux, I used a MiniTool Partition Wizard to make  2 HD logical disk

Turn off Bitlocker? I only had the chance to bypass this station of Bitlocker or go back to Windows by enabling Secure Boot. I chose" Bypass this station"  and inserted my Linux USB key and then chose "use an USB station".  But Linux did not start  Instead I got back the window Bitlocker, You need to enter your recovery key, because Secure Boot has been disabled.  Is there anything else I can do to run Linux on my HP Pavillion now? Thanks in advance for your answer

Hi,

At the password screen, hit enter 3 times and you should receive a 'halt code' - post back with this code.

Hi! , Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!

I understand you have issues booting into your PC.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

Please provide the product number of your PC to assist you better.

As you mentioned you are getting a non-system disk or disk error message on your PC.

This error message may appear when the computer BIOS cannot find a bootable operating system on any of the storage devices included in the notebook PC's boot path.

Try running a system diagnostics on your PC and check if it the hardware components on your PC is functioning correctly.

From the main menu, you can run hardware tests and view the test logs, change the language, and access system information. This screen also shows the version number and the address for the UEFI website.
Use the following steps to open the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) to the main menu.
Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
Turn on the computer and immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second.
The HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu is displayed.
In the main menu, click to select an option. To find out about your computer, for example, click System Information, and then click Hard drive.
If the hard drive test fails, please capture the failure ID and contact HP support for service options.

If the test passes without any errors try performing a complete system recovery using the recovery discs.

If you don't have a set of recovery discs, please contact HP support and order a set of recovery discs.

Refer this article to know more information about non-system disk or disk error on your PC.

Oops, I forogt it's 300+ GB I'm trying to save, not 200+ GB. Also is it possible to get this sent to an offical HP service place where they can fix the specified problem or should I just get the accesories needed to do it myself?

Thanks to all who are continuing to keep this thread alive.  I'm still hoping that HP will address what appears to be the root cause: The BIOS is not waiting through the "autochk" countdown for some processors.

I have noticed I made an error in the registry key path in my earlier post.  I guess everyone has been too kind to point it out.  The correct path is:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\AutoChkTimeout

The workaround is to change the value from "8" to "1".

Thank you for replying with this detailed response Smiley Wink

I appreciate your time and efforts,

I'm glad you brought that up, as HP doesn't recommend or support installation of Linux or creating additional partitions on the HDD, as far as I can say, the issue could be due to the installation of the same.

I recommend you revert back to factory shipped settings to resolve these issues using a HP Recovery media, if you didn't create one shortly after you purchased the PC: Click here to obtain one.

Do get back to me as I have a few more tricks up my sleeve,

That said, If I have helped you resolve the issue,

feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon

followed by clicking on 'Accepted as Solution'

And Have a great day Ahead!
