First of all my best wishes.

I did what you proposed but it didn't work.

The generated code was not accepted.

    Other solution?

    Kind regards,

You mave to take it to a local repair shop for a second opinion.

If it is dead then the Main Board may need replacing, and that is usually at least 50% of he cost of a new PC.

  • 01/01/19--04:47: Forgot BIOS setup password
  • I set up a password to access the BIOS configuration and I lost it.

I can boot the computer normally, and have full control over it once booted, but I can't boot from an USB stick since my boot order is locked along with the BIOS config.

I tried updating the BIOS with the HP official BIOS update for my computer, but that didn't reset the password.

Before the upgrade, entering three incorrect passwords showed the message

    System Disabled

    [i 92654912]

    Currently, the message is

    System Disabled

    [i 84777602]

Can I unlock the BIOS with this information? Thank you in advance.

I want to play a game called Shaiya, but when I run the updater it will no longer run. It will just freeze or do nothing. This problem didn't start until after windows update. I have completey formated the laptop and and ran some test. It still doesn't work. I did run a Scan CHeck and have the results.

BIOS Update did not fix the problem. Happnes les frequently but still about 20% of the time I shutdown. Any help is appreciated.

  • Welcome to the HP Support Community

For that model you will need to contact HP in your region and they should be able to send you a customized SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.

    Contact Support >>

When talking to the HP rep ask them to escalate your service request.

    Just to note:

Do not try removing the RTC/BIOS battery.  As it will not remove the password, but it may reset the clock and as SMC files are time coded, a large disparity between the system clock and the time encoded in the SMC may cause it to fail.
