I have had this HP Envy 17 notebook for about 4/5 years. One of my questions when I bought this was I had heard that there was a problem with overheating. The person on the line said it has been fixed. Have since purched a fan pad for it to sit on due to the fact that it feels so hot on the left side.
Am a member of STEAM and have been for about 10 years. Recently downloaded a couple of games dating from 2007 or 2008. The machine shuts down "Stating Overheating". All drivers are up to date, and it works fine when not gaming. Please explain. Still gets hot, but doesn't shut down. Games played just fine on it 3 years ago, not now. What changed.
