What is the installed processor?

If it is a Pentium Gold, Silver or Celeron processor, it does not have virtualization capability.

I can't think of any games that require virtualization.

Not sure why, now I can read it. My UEFI looks different. Maybe because it's a Ryzen.

But I will check as per the link.

I tried recovering with the method you mentioned but when beginned the restart process it said an error ocurred during the bios recovery. According to the photo uploaded, my BIOS version is the latest. I upload some photos. As you can see the battery needs a calibration but I already did the process and never got calibrated.

I suggest trying to recover it again.

How many watts is the power adapter that you are using?

Calibration is a rather time consuming process.

Drain it all the way down and then plug in the power adapter and charge it fully.

Be aware that if you are using an underpowered power adapter, the battery will never charge properly.

I have never had to do it before and I have replaced hundreds of batteries.

Fast Startup (Hibernate) problem: Windows failed fast startup with error status 0xC00000D4

Hello!

The windows "Fast Startup" feature has a problem in my laptop. i have it enabled from control panel, if i shutdown the laptop and leave it for like a day, when i turn it on, it is doing a cold boot not fast startup, i can know from windows task manager when i look at the CPU Uptime i see it starts from 00:00:01 that is a cold boot, in a normal condition, if fast startup feature is working, it should continue incrementing the CPU Uptime from the previous state.

and in the Windows Event Viewer i get Two Error events.

First Error Event:

Source: Kernel-Boot
Event ID (128)

Task Category (53)

Error: BL_LOG_ERROR_RES_HW_CHANGE: Hardware or firmware settings have changes since hibernate. Status: {Incorrect Volume} The target file of a rename request is located on a different device than the source of the rename request.

Event ID 158.png

Second Error Event:

Source: Kernel-Boot
Event ID (29)

Task Category (None)

Windows failed fast startup with error status 0xC00000D4.

Event ID 29.png

Previously i contacted the HP Support trying to solve this issue, the last step they suggested to upgrade to

windows 11 and the issue persists. i tried windows 10 same issue, windows 11 same issue.

They also suggested to run a compontents test using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics from BIOS and all the tests passed no issues found, all components work as expected.

- i have all the drivers and windows updates up-to-date.

- i also tried disabling all programs from the Startup apps and the issue persists.

- the battery works as expected, no problem with it.

When this issue happens, when i press on the power button from keyboard, the first press does nothing, the second press does boot up. the first press did nothing because the windows crashed from a hibernate state, giving the two error events i mentioned above.

Anyone have a clue what is causing this issue to happen? will be so much thankful, i have this issue for months with no luck figuring it out!

Power button is blinking orange and white when plugged in but won't turn on

I was using the laptop and the screen turned black. I plugged it in and now the power button flashes from orange to white and the laptop won't turn on.

The power LED flashes are not consistent as some orange flashes means the battery is charging and does not have enough charge yet, so waiting is the only solution.  Other orange flashes means the charger and/or the internal charging circuit are bad and while replacing the charger MIGHT solve the issue, it also might NOT.

If you wait and it eventually starts,  then read this document from HP about battery charging issues:

And Here's a video from HP Support about troubleshooting battery issues:

No one knows WHY,  but FastStartup causes problems on some PCs and the only working solution is to disable it -- trading a fast but unreliable start for a slow but reliable start.

Booting issues with HP ProBook 640 G1 and new SSD

So I decided to upgrade my old laptop from an HDD to an SSD, yet despite following the instructions set in this link (https://www.acronis.com/en-us/blog/posts/how-to-move-os-to-another-drive/#:~:text=Migrating%20your%20Windows%20operating%20system,via%20a%20Windows%20bootable%20media.), when I try to boot the cpu with the SSD connected, it can't locate the OS.

Now, in the part where I was supposed to open up Disk Management and get a pop-up window to Initialize Disk, I never got said window,  just got the Disk Management one up instead.

Am I doing something wrong, or am I just banging my head against the wall?

Problems starting up/resume running - from battery/only run when plugged in

I own a HP Laptop 15S-FQ2050.
And recently I have been having problems starting up the notebook, without having it plugged in.

(Despite partial charge in the battery).

- Also recently, the notebook's date and time has occasionally been incorrect.

According to the Battery Report (Windows 11):
DESIGN CAPACITY: 41,040 mWh
FULL CHARGE CAPACITY: 37,677 mWh
CYCLE COUNT: 122

- The battery charge check was unable to test the primary battery for one or more reasons:
The primary battery is close to fully charged (remaining capacity close to >= 90%)

Please perform the steps below:
1. Unplug the AC adaptor to discharge the primary battery for 20 minutes (tried).
2. Retest using the battery check.
If the system cannot power on without AC power, please replace the primary battery (601).

- I have had the notebook since November 2021. (Now out of warranty).

I also ran HP PC Diagnostics Windows 2.5.0.0

(All types of Fast Tests and Extensive Tests passed).

Bios Issue in my victus after updating to win11 23h2 bios update

0

I have been using my Victus for 4 years. never had any issues, the October update was also fine but march update to bios brought the issue.  the laptop doesn't switch on after switching off on pressing power button, it switches on only after using (f6+windows+power), as per troubleshooting methods tried all the available steps, with bios run there was an issue and shows bios corrupted but downloaded WIN11 22H2 and only win 11 version and used the bios but still the issue persists, unable to find the 23H2 version. Tried reaching out to Hp, but its asking to buy a subscription. I am a student in a new country and I am financially constrained to buy access. I am not in a position to afford repair or buy a new device.

please help me to get some help and get my device working normally. This device is very important to continue my studies.
