Tried removing/replacing both. That didn't seem to work.
Re: Pavilion G6 won't boot
Re: Enter administrator or power on password!!
Re: HP 840 G3 DriveLock issue
Try this. (be ready for the unit to turn off.)
open the CMD as a admin. (windows key, type CMD, press shift+enter, click yes at the UAC)
Type Shutdown /s /t 0 (enter)
After shutdown if the unit boots back up successfully.
The issue will need to be solved by a firmware update in the future for now you need to disable hybrid shutdown.
Google - turn off hybrid shutdown windows 10
The first hit will give you a nice tutorial.
The issue is, the UEFI is seeing the S4 state as a active state, the hard drive does not. The system is not initalizing the drive as if it is coming out of S5 (Full power off) and can't find the drive as a result.
Currently many manufatures are having issues with the new windows power states, I would bet the above is the problem.
Re: What's could be wrong with my laptop?
Hi @Teddybear101592,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I understand you are having an issue with flashing lights and a low battery. I will be glad to help you.
The caps lock light flashing 2 times is a BIOS error per Computer Does Not Start and Emits an LED or Beep Code.
As there is not softwarefor Windows 10 from HP, try download and install the Windows 8.1 HP Notebook System BIOS Update (AMD Processors).
For the Battery please follow the steps fromTesting and Calibrating the Battery (Windows 10).
Please keep me informed of how things went.
If you require further assistance, let me know and I will gladly do all I can to help you.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue by marking this post as "Accept as Solution".

Re: Battery icon reads "plugged in, not charging" and LED Battery light is blinking white
There wasn't an option to calibrate because is said the battery was fine. How much does a new battery cost? Do have to take off the back of the laptop to replace it? I can't just unsnap the battery.

Re: wrong password hp notebook
Hi @cloe1,
Welcome to the HP Forum!
It is a fantastic site to find information, tips and suggestions. For you have the most rewarding experience please review the HP Forums Guide:
First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More
I grasp that you setup your computer a few days ago, but it is not accepting your password.
Please review this post by @wes_notebook:
HP recommends using a Microsoft connected account (MSA) to log in to Windows. With a Microsoft connected account you log into Windows using your email address and the password can be reset using a different device at any time. You do not need a Microsoft or Hotmail email address to set up a connected account. Any email address will work.
To reset your password for an MSA account follow these steps:
- Open an Internet browser and navigate to the Microsoft Reset your password Web page: https://account.live.com/password/reset.
- Select I forgot my password, and then click Reset your password.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your password.
When the password is reset, you will be able to use your Microsoft account with the new password to sign in to Windows 10 and Windows 8. Make sure your computer is connected to the Internet before you attempt to sign in.
For more information about recovering your Microsoft account password see:
- How to Recover Your Forgotten Password (Windows 10)

Reset a local user account password in Windows (all versions)
If you are using a local user account HP cannot recover or reset your password if it is lost or forgotten.
HP strongly recommends creating a password reset disk to enable you to reset your password in case it is forgotten. If you do not have a password reset disk and can’t remember your password, you will be directed by HP support to perform a full recovery to original factory conditions and will lose any data that was not backed up to an external location.
Create a password reset disk
To complete these steps, you'll need removable media (a USB flash drive).
- Insert your removable media.
- Open User Accounts by clicking theStart button, clicking Control Panel, clicking User Accounts and Family Safety, and then clicking User Accounts.
- In the left pane, clickCreate a password reset disk, and then follow the instructions. Make sure you store the password reset disk in a safe place.
Reset your password using the password reset disk
If you enter the wrong password when you attempt to log on, Windows displays a message that the password is incorrect.
- Click OK to close the message.
- Click Reset password, and then insert your password reset disk or USB flash drive.
- Follow the steps in the Password Reset wizard to create a new password.
- Log on with the new password. If you forget your password again, you can use the same password reset disk. You don't need to make a new one.

Power On / BIOS Password
HP does not capture or retain any BIOS password data, so HP cannot recover your local BIOS or power-on password.
Notebooks, Desktop all-in-ones and tablets - HP can remove BIOS and power on passwords via a service of the computer. You can contact HP Support to set this up. Options vary depending on location and warranty status (Service fee may apply).
Desktop PCs - There are jumpers on the system board that are designed to remove BIOS and power on passwords. Search for the specifications documentation on your PC. Find the document outlining the system or motherboard to locate CMOS and or password jumpers.

HP Probook 15 keeps rebooting with loud screech
I received a notice that an update was ready for my new laptop. I scheduled it to update at 3am when I was not using the system. Around 4am the laptop screeches for around 3-4 seconds then reboots. Screen comes up saying that the AMD stream needs to be reinstalled. I click to reinstall it. Blue screen comes up telling me that that errors are being checked and the system will be restarted. This happens over and over and over again. Doesn't allow me to click on anything in the meantime or even do an ESC or any other F key. Had to hard shut it down to stop the reboot loop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My laptop is unable to create or find a new system partition
Hello HP community,
my laptop HP pavilion dv7 7020ec had recently some serious problems, so I decided to reinstall it.
After hours of trying I got stucked to the point, where i choose disc for install OS, bu"t it says that "it was unable to create or find partition disc". Also it says that " it maybe doesn´t support launching, so I should check BIOS for disk controller "(translating from Czech).
I would be grateful for every answer because I feel fatigued after trying to follow many guides from forums.
