Re: I had a stroke I cannot remember my PIN to get into my laptop can you please help me

@sharonbutcher07, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that, hope you are doing well now. If you’ve forgotten your PIN, you can reset it by following these steps:

Option 1: Reset Your PIN (If You Can Access Your Microsoft Account)

  1. On the login screen, click "I forgot my PIN".
  2. Follow the prompts to verify your identity using your Microsoft account credentials.
  3. Set a new PIN.

Option 2: Reset Password Using Safe Mode (If Option 1 Doesn’t Work)

  1. Turn off your laptop.
  2. Turn it on and force shut down (hold the power button) when the HP logo appears. Repeat three times until you reach the Advanced Startup menu.
  3. Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.
  4. When the options appear, press F4 to enable Safe Mode.
  5. Log in using your Microsoft password (if your account is linked).
  6. Change the PIN in Settings > Accounts > Sign-in Options.

Option 3: Reset the PC (Last Resort)

If you do not remember your Microsoft account password or the above steps don’t work:

  1. On the login screen, click "Restart" while holding Shift to enter Advanced Startup.
  2. Go to Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.
  3. Choose Keep my files (or Remove everything if needed).
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
