Welcome to the HP Forums! From reading your post it could be anything from a driver conflict, a problem with a program, a virus or even something with Windows. I will be happy to help but will need some additional information. What is your operating system? What is the product number for the G62?
While in Safe Mode there are a couple of things to try. Run the System File Checker tool to check for corrupt files and a Disk Check to see if there are any problems with the disk.
