I wouldn't read too much into manufacturers making Windows 7 machines available. Windows 8 has most of Windows 7 features under the hood anyway. All I enjoyed with Windows 8.1, was the choice to bypass the Metro interface and boot straight into the desktop. And the start button of course - but the Windows key + X in Windows 8 is the same thing just with the shut down, log off commands missing. It seems Windows 8.2 might be out soon, but I guess we're faced with the same issues. So better to stay with Windows 8 till HP say the computer is stable with anything else. I'm not holding my breath though.
