Hello superpope99,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I have read your post on how your notebook's display shows a black screen when you switch to the AMD graphics card, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
Since the Intel graphics card works with your system configuration, I recommend uninstalling and re-installing the AMD graphics drivers from your computer. Once the software is removed from Programs and Features, I will ask that you follow this document on Uninstall or Reinstall a Device. The last step in the removal process will be to restart your notebook.
Once the computer has booted back into Windows, please download and install the AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver for your bit-version of Windows 7.
Additionally, if an uninstall and re-install does not resolve the issue in switching your graphics card, I recommend following this resource on Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 7). This should help recover the original software and hardware drivers that came with your computer.
If the issue persists, I recommend performing a backup and recovery of your Operating System. To do this, please follow this document on Backing Up Your Files (Windows 7) as well as Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 7). This should help restore your system back to its original factory defaults.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!
Regards
