Hi ashyani
***PLEASE REMOVE THE SERIAL NUMBER FROM YOUR POST, HACKERS CAN GAIN ACCESS TO YOUR SYSTEM WITH THIS***
Which OS are you using, 32 or 64 bit?
What was the result of hard ware test @CherylG suggested to do, when you had the same freezing of touchpad?
In the mean time, try a hard reset first. Following documents will help you in this: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01684768&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001
Try uninstalling touchpad driver from Device manager in control panel (or type Device manager in Search Charm), right click the Touchpad driver under Mice option, Click uninstall.
Restart the system
Now, download & save the latest one available for your product to a known location in your computer, from your product drivers link: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=5314327&query=HP%201000-1220LA&
Double click the file from that location & install it.
Restart the system.
