This is the condensed form of a very long story...
Bad motherboard
Replaced motherboard
Bad motherboard
replaced motherboard
motherboard still doesn't work
stuck motherboard i the oven and melted it. works fine!
started laptop, hadn't been turned on in 6 months, updated windows slowly
Windows crashed at startup, computer hasn't worked since
Yesterday I took the thing apart, put it back together, and it seems to be running permanently. Sort of...
I used the recovery software to reinstall the factory system to the computer, but everytime it restarts I get a message that there's a read error on the harddrive.
When I do a CMOS (or boot debug??) to check the hard drive, it fails the quick and full tests. Always at a different percent for the quick test, always at 0% for the full test.
Is it possible the harddisk is damaged? Maybe there are bad sectors? What can I do to fix this? Thanks!
