I've had my lap top since December of 2010. In the last couple of months, it has been starting to have problems when I plug it in to recharge its battery. The screen becomes black, acting as if it had shut down. But the lap top is clearly still on due to the fans running and the power button being lit, but I am unable to do anything with it except forcing it to shut down by holding down the power button.
The work around I've been using has been Safe Mode with Networking. While I'm in safe mode, the lap top appears to function fine. However just last month, it has begin to black screen WHILE in safe mode as well. It doesn't happen as quickly as it does when not in safe mode, but it now eventually black screens when the AC adapter is plugged in.
Unfortunately, I'm not tech savy. So I really don't understand what I should do. However I have determined that the lap top acts just fine when I don't have the AC adapter plugged in to charge it. However my lap top loses its charge quite fast now compared to when I first had it in 2010. So is this a hardware problem that I can fix or is it something more complicated?
My lap top is a HP G62-367DX Notebook
