Hi annanurdock4045

as peerone suggested its probably malware, adware, trojans etc.
which antivirus are you using?
i suggest you download following latest softwares from their genuine sites : 1) malwarebytes free version - scan completely & fix it by threat scan, 2) adwcleaner - run the download file n do a complete scan n delete any threats found, 3) trend housecall - do a complete scan (may take several hours depending upon size of hard disk, mine took 6hours) & delete or fix any threat detected,

after all this reboot your system, download CCleaner from their website, install it do a complete scan...dont change any settings. Click fix after the scan.

reboot again scan with some other online antivirus scanner, go for trend housecall again eset online scanner, do the download, install...scan n delete or fix detected threats if any. That's it.
after all this better you do windows defender scan after updating it to confirm.

post your results of the scan...if you found any threats in any of the scans after all of them,
if its a trojan or virus, you may have to restore your system to a previously unaffected state.

thanks

Visruth
