My hp laptop won't turn on

Hello. So I recently purchased a hp laptop and am having trouble turning it on. I have tried the hard reset and had no success. When I turn it on, the fan does not start, and the only light I see is the red wifi light. That stays on for about ten seconds before going away. When I plug my laptop in, the light does go on showing that it is charging.
Any help would be much appreciated as I am currently on a deployment with the US military and replacing this laptop would take months. Thank you
