Hi
Also if your Vista disk will not work on start up you will need to change the boot order in the BIOS so your CDROM drive is the Primary Drive . Once the disk starts DO NOT choose to install windows goto "Repair My Computer" Do a system repair so that windows can repair the BOOTMGR . If that fails to repair your instalation then you can try a manual fix by choosing "Command Prompt" and once command prompt starts type bootrec /fixboot hit enter then type bootrec /fixmbr
hit enter . Restart your PC and see if the issue has been resolved . Please note there is a space between bootrec and /
