My computer is an HDX X18T-1200 CTO with the Q9000 processor and nVidia 9600M GT graphics card.
The problem is that the computer will not boot. I have tried starting it without the battery in it and just on AC power, and also just on battery power, but all it will do is light up like it's going to boot, but then immediately shut off approximately a second later. The LED's to indicate charging will turn on when it is plugged in as well.
The problem arose when the original AC adapter would only intermittently charge the computer. The adapter itself (p/n 519331-001) stated to replace with an HP spare with a different part number (p/n 463953-001), so I ordered that part number. Once the new, HP genuine AC adapter arrived, I plugged it into the computer when it was off, and the charging lights illuminated as they should. However, when I wanted to turn the computer on, it would not boot, even with the old AC adapter plugged in.
Is there any hope for my computer?? I really do not want to have to replace it, as there is simply no other computer like it on the market today. I tried to e-mail HP support to no avail. Please advise!
Thanks!
Nick
