I understand the touchpad will occasionally freeze. I will do my best to assist you! First, I would encourage you to try the steps in this HP document: Using and Troubleshooting the TouchPad or ClickPad (Windows 8)
This document suggests useful steps such as ensuring you are not accidentally locking, resetting hardware settings and more. I believe the issue will be resolve after trying these steps. Either way, please post your results.
