Yeah! either your version of windows is not activated and you need to leave the installation cd in the cd-rom in order for it to run the operating system. Or your hard drives master boot record is corrupt and will not boot, hence the asking about a bootable disk dilemma. In this case, you can stick the installation cd in the cd-rom which will act as a recovery cd. Now go to the advanced options and select the command prompt. Now depending on the version of windows you have installed on the hard drive, you need to run the FIX MBR command. Research how to use this command for your version of windows. It may need an option added to the command like Fix -r MBR or something. just look it up! this should work! if not? try removing the hard drive and putting it in a usb enclosure and hooking it up to a desktop that is working and run the FIX MBR command on that drive, using the desktops command prompt utility.
