Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

That code typically indicates that the hard drive has failed -- which you certainly should not be encountering in a new PC.

You paid for free HP Tech Support as part of the warranty coverage, so you might as well make use of it.

While this PC is still under warranty, you should contact HP Customer Support directly to have them put you in touch with HP Technical Support to see what they can do about troubleshooting and replacing your PC.

I did this recently and the HP Tech was able to remotely access my PC from the Internet and do the needed repairs.

If you live in the US or Canada, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: After you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to some one -- it can take a while!

If you have trouble finding a phone number, then try: 1 (800) 474-6836

Good Luck

Pavilion TS 14 freezes running Windows 10 unless in Safe Mode

Ever since the Anniversary update for Windows 10, my laptop freezes during startup and subsequent running. Freezing may last anywhere from 15 seconds to 5 minutes. In between freezes, I may get 10 seconds to 2 minutes of run-time before the next freeze.

In Safe Mode, there are no problems. I removed all the toolbars attached to my browsers (Edge, and Chrome). I have tried turning off all the Task Manager startup processes, but in regular mode, it still freezes.

I did get my anti-virus program to run a quick scan (which wasn't quick actually because of the intermittent freezing), and it found no problems.

I have tried to Reset my PC (reinstall the Windows 10), but I receive an error message (perhaps because I am in Safe Mode?).

I am stuck. Can anyone help?

@jlonomo, the preventive measure is to remove the single screw and add a thin double sided tape at the bottom of the unit and double sided mounting tape at the side where it meets the case. This will firmly hold it in place and prevents it from moving while plugging the power plug in and out. It is also best to add a threadlocker adhesive (Loctite or equivalent) to lock the screw and prevent it from loosening up.

Ok, so i tried removing the ram memory, still no restult, and the ram is working fine tested on another laptop.

I performed a Hdd dst and the result was good. So no HDD problem. But sometimes when i remove the HDD and then plug it back in the screen will work, but after the 1st restart it will go blank again.

I dont think a got a faulty gpu because i dont think the screen would work at all.

I tried removing the batery and the ac pluging, pressed the power to 30-40 sec, plung in the ac and it worked and again after 1st restart blank, but this method only worked 1 time, no results anymore.

Tried an external monitor, no results.

So thats all i did till now, if anyone got any other suggestion i will glady try. Thanks for your reply.

To be clearer, the led on the capslock blinks twice, that indicates a bios issue, but I am unsure what to do from here

According to the message you have recently posted if the Notebook doesn't Power ON even with a known good Power Adapter this confirms the Hardware fault with System Board or the DC Power Circuit and I recommend you to Contact HP Technical Support over the Phone for further assistance to get your Notebook diagnosed and serviced by an authorized HP Certified Engineer
