bios press beeps

Is there anyway to turn off the annoying beep that HP seem to have enabled whenever you do anything in the Computer Setup screen or press an F key to change the normal boot? I know i've pressed the button or made the change I don't need the laptop making the most annoying system beep i've ever heard. Older models didn't do this and is beeping annoying in an open plan office.

Re: Blue screen memory management error hp pavilion dv6 i5

There are a number of possibilities that can generate the 'Memory Management' BSOD. Did your PC come with Win7 Ultimate already installed, or is it an upgrade to Win7 Ultimate? If an upgrade, which OS did you upgrade, XP or Vista? When did this behavior begin, has it been a constant problem since you obtained the PC, or is it a recent development? What was the last change you made on your PC before the BSOD's started, either a hardware addition or software?

Try booting into Safe Mode and continue in Safe Mode for a while to see if your experience any BSODs. If your do not get any rebooting in Safe Mode, then the most likely culprit is a driver.

If the BSOD stays on screen long enough for you to read it thoroughly, record any series of numbers and letters in addition to the message you already posted. If the BSOD disappears quickly in a reboot, then go to 'Control Panel (view by icons)>System>Advanced System Settings (or alternatively you can type in the Start menu search box Advanced System Settings, and press Enter)>System Properties Advanced tab>Startup and Recovery>Settings button> and under 'System Failure' remove the check mark by "Automatically restart". Next, just below that, in "Write debugging information", be sure 'Small memory dump (256KB)' is showing. This writes a minidump file in the %SystemRoot% folder, which is usually 'C:\Windows'.

Another location to check is the System Log and Application Log under Windows Logs in the Event Viewer. Click Start menu, type in eventvwr and press Enter. Look for any red critical errors generated at the time of the BSOD containing any info about the BSOD.

Thank you. I tried the hard reset with no success.

I reset the bios defaults (again also without success).

I also tried both HDD connections on the MB.

I don't know much about MB failures but it's odd to me the drive controller connections both don't work.

Again - absent any other suggestions - does anyone have a contact point at HP to see if they will replace the MB.

Hey!
I have a HP Pavilion 15-g019wm and its on a 64 bit Windows 10 OS and it has been working fine forever. I got home and was about to do some business work and noticed my computer won't cut on. I've tried doing the remove battery and unplug from wall thing and it hasn't worked. The LED light on the side is on. It's not blinking but it's on like indicating that it's charging.

"I've tried doing the remove battery and unplug from wall thing and it hasn't worked."

Just what exactly does that statement mean?

Remove the battery.

Plug the power adapter ionto house power and plug it's connector into the receptacle on your notebook.

Press the power button.

Does the notebook  boot to the Windows login?

If it does, it means that there is an issue with the main battery and it should be replaced.

If it does not, that means that there is a problem with the notebook's systemboard. That is a bad thing.

Try a hard reset to see if it convinces the notebook to operate normally.

Last night, when I pressed the power button of my laptop as usual it turned on, bu in a few seconds the laptop completely shut down. After that, when I pressed the power button the laptop didn't turn on at all. I thought it was a minor battery problem, so I charged the laptop the whole night and thought nit will be alright.

But when I tried to turn on the laptop this morning it was the same thing as before, nothing happens. When I plug in the AC adapter it works, it even shows the LED light that it's charging and also when it's charged.

Please help here. I don't what to do and getting worried about my laptop.

P.S: On that day the last time I used my laptop was at 2pm, and I put it to sleep. I usually do this , but it works fine and  at the end of the day I always shut it down.

Hi,

If you normally sign-on with an email and password, see if you can reset the password via another PC from the Microsoft page on the following link.

 https://account.live.com/password/reset

Otherwise, there is a general policy on the Forum not to provide methods to bypass Windows log-on passwords, however a local computer shop would be able to do this for you.

Another option, if all your personal data etc is backed-up, would be to reset the notebook to its 'Factory Condition' and then set it up from the beginning – if you don’t have your Recovery Media, the notebook will have shipped with a Recovery Partition which can be accessed at boot - ie shutdown the notebook, then start tapping away at f11 as soon as you power on.

A full guide on this can be found on the following link.
