I updated the bios, laptop restarted on its own. After that laptop will not boot up. It keeps turning on and off.

Whole keyboard light on and off every 5 deconds. You can hear the cpu fan turning in and off.

When I do windows key + B, the keyboard stays lit but nothing happens. Never makes a single beeping sound of any kind.

Screen never comes on. Left the cmos bat out 1min, 5min, 30mins even over night still nothing. Take the laptop battery out and only use AC power and still nothing.

Hello! My HP 15 laptop has been having issues lately. It's been "overheating" due to a cooling fan malfunction.  But...for some reason, it doesn't overheat when it's on the charger. I believe the overheating started in February, but I might be wrong. I have had the laptop for a 1 and a half years. Any help would be much appreciated!

Hello HP forums
Yesterday, my explorer got stuck so i had to restart the laptop by pressing the power button, i turned it on, and then, Startup repair appeared, i left it to complete and then i went to sleep.
The next day i woke up, i opened my laptop, and then "Windows is loading files" appeared and afterwards a black screen appears and it stays there forever.
I read many solutions but none of them seemed to work
Such as:
-Removing the battery and the AC adapter and then press power button for 40 seconds.

-Entering safe mode and doing a full recovery (I cannot access safe mode using F8)

I can only access the ESC which is the bios and these stuff.
If anyone can help, i would be grateful because ill probably pay $200 and up.

Hi, my name is Charles and I have a very big problem. My HP ProBook was working the past night, and has been for the past 6 months. However, on this night, when I shut it down and opened it up the next morning, it had been put into Manufacturing Program Mode. I have no clue how this happened, or why it happened. Is there a way to get it out of Manufacturing Program Mode? I have been trying the trick with the AC adapter but it never goes over 1. Even with Manufacturing Mode on, since I know I can still use it, it won't boot... at all.

Searched forums with no luck . Power cord plugged in with white light ,no other lights flashing or blinking . Tryed the hard reset for model with sealed batery (holding power button down) no response. Looking for some model specific answers because standard trobleshooting has been tried and failed . Thanks in advance.

Is there any hope for resetting the bios password on this laptop? I got it used and need to wipe it because Windows is acting up. Worse case I'll just install Linux in another computer and move the drive but I'm hoping to do it the proper way.

My computer is locked in the administrator password or power on password. I got this computer for my nephew who use it for about six months and then left it for about six months he forgot the password and I have no clue can anyone help. Is there a way around this screen.

Hi:

 

Enter any password 3 times and the PC should generate a system disabled (halt) code.

 

Post the code you get from the PC.

Dads old computer has BIOS locked, need to reformat etc ... says System Disabled 60148926.. is there some magic to this?

Hello, I'm trying to boot a Linux-based OS from an external optical drive.

 

Using the UEFI boot options menu, I've set the boot order so that the regular OS boot manager appears last, but I still cannot get the other OS to boot.

 

I have the external drive connected by a cord to the USB port on the notebook. Legacy boot is disabled, boot from CD/DVD is enabled, secure boot is enabled.

 

The external drive is working-- in fact, its light blinks when I restart the computer. The DVD works on my desktop too.

 

Here's what I've been doing: Restart the computer. Hit 'esc', then 'F9'. At this point it only gives me two options, but both are for the Windows OS. It doesn't even list "internal drive", "external drive", or "USB" at this point.

 

Agh. Please help. Thank you.

Alright, I think I know what the problem is now. I think the fan is clogged up, because it's being really quiet.  So thank you for helping me with this. Thank you so much!
