humm not sure if i got it .. but if you upgraded your windows to 10 .. you need to re install the fingerprint driver i had this issue on my laptop i installed the latest driver and its working

Hi,
Try disabling Windows 8.1 hybrid boot - you can do this as follows.
Right click the battery icon in the Taskbar and select Power Options - in the following window, click on 'Choose what the power button does' in the left hand pane.
In the subsequent window, first click on 'Change settings that are currently unavailable' ( near the top of the Window ) and then remove the checkmark from the box against 'Turn on fast start-up (recommended)'. Click the Save Settings button, then close any open windows and shutdown the notebook by right click the Start Menu icon, select Command Prompt (Admin) and click ‘Yes’ to the uac prompt.
Type ( or copy and paste ) in the following command ( including spaces ) and hit enter.
shutdown /s /t 0
Start the notebook and let Windows fully load for a couple of minutes before checking if it will now shutdown correctly from the Start Menu.
If this has corrected the issue, it may be worth turning Fast Start-up back on – sometimes just deleting and re-creating the file will resolve the problem.

b000ej shuts down
Hello,
I have a laptop - HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b000ej with Windows 8.
Recently, it shuts down with no warning, but only when working on battery. Even if I assume the battery is old and I need to get a new one - what I don't understand is why the laptop shuts down instead of going to hibernation. I've checked the power settings. It's never supposed to shut down, but go into hibernation, but it never does.
So is it the battery or something else?

My hp envy 15-u 000na×360 laptop stuck in repairing disk errors loop.
Upon starting my laptop a blank screen appearing and after few minutes its saying 'repairing disk errors.this might take over an hour to complete' but this never ends i have been waiting for more than 20 hours. I did bios set up and have removed and replaced memory module as instructed in hp support assistant vedio. Both the times system showing bios set up occured and after few minutes blank screen appearing and after that its saying
'repairing disk errors.this might take over an hour to complete'. My laptop warranty was expired 2 months back.Dont know what to do please help..

Hi,
Unfortunately, business class machines have more stringent security than consumer models - they don't produce 'halt codes', the password cannot be derived from the Serial No. and the code is stored in non-volatile memory so removing the RTC cell will not reset the password in this case.
If you Contact HP Business support they should be able to send you a customised SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.

HP Pavilion G6-2235us won't boot up and makes very loud fan noises
It was all fine a couple of months ago, but then it suddenly became slower than before. It worked ok at first, but then the situation worsened. Booting up took longer and longer and now it is impossible to do so. The fan also increased in noise and it seems that the conmputer is struggling to startup anything. attempts to fix it via windows recovery failed, as it shutdown halfway through the recovery. Is this caused by some sort of virus? Does it have to do with my computer itself?
I would like to know more about it and resolutions I can take to fix this problem. Thank you and have a nice day

Doesn't shut down
Hi!
My laptop doesn't shut down if I click of Shut down in Start menu or even if I press the OFF button (however it is set that it should shut down if I press it). The screen goes black however the OFF button LED is lightning still both the blowers are cooling the whole machine quietly.
Could you please advise what's wrong with it?
