Re: Hard Drive Short DST failed
You're very welcome.
Yes, that is a great idea, since you have to replace the hard drive, you may as well upgrade the memory and replace the HDD with a SSD. The SSD will perform much better and is more durable than a mechanical hard drive.
Memory...you have to use DDR3L (1.35V) memory. DDR4 memory runs at a different voltage, has a different amount of contact pins, and the slot is cut in a different place to prevent the wrong type of memory from being installed.
SSD...you may already know what you want, but I use this model in a few of my HP desktop and notebook PC's. It works great, and it is inexpensive.
And if 240 GB isn't enough space for you, the 480 GB model is only $70 USD.
Re: Help me please battery can't work
Welcome to the HP Forums :) I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I see from your post you are having an issue with the battery not working on your HP notebook. No worries, I'll be glad to help you.
As I see you've performed the hardware test and it resulted with the failure ID which is UC5XWF-9119AX-XD7W3G-C0C703
Here's what the ID represents: 601
Error message: Battery 1
This clearly indicates that the battery on the laptop is faulty and it needs a replacement.
I did go through the Product specification and found that your PC was shipped with 4-cell, 70 Wh Li-ion Battery.
For the spare part number, I would suggest you go through the Maintenance and Service guide of your notebook.
Chapter 3 Illustrated parts catalog --- Computer major components -- page number 16
Now the parts listed here are the ones which are tested and compatible on your PC. If you wish you can try other parts at your own discretion. However, HP Doesn't recommend any upgrade/downgrade of any hardware parts or software that is bundled with the product. It may affect the manufacturer's warranty and performance.
Alternatively, You could replace the part on your own, use the HP Parts surfer to identify the part: Click here & order it via the HP Parts store (Click here).
If you find difficulty replacing the part, I will share you a private message with details. Please watch your inbox for more information.
Let me know if this helps!
Have a great day ahead! :)

But in my case i didn't change any thing in my laptop !!
I have windows 7 64 bit ...
Tried to update bios the the latest version
Tried another hard disk drive
Tried reinstalling windows
Still have this 13 sec late before hp screen appears ... Its annoying :(
Can any one help me .. what to do ?
Re: caps lock blinks 3 times white then pause then 3 times over and over no boot
Hi
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02693833
Depending on the BIOS maker...
LED blinks 3 times | Memory | RAM Module failure. | 1 Reseat the memory. NB:- See the Services Media Library for steps for your PC. 2 Check each individual memory module and swap slots. 3 Replace the memory modules causing three blinks or if the blinks follow the slots. 4 Replace the Main-Board. |
3 | MEMORY READ OR WRITE FAILURE | 3 | INSERT NEXT MEDIA VOLUME |
HP ab150sa - Boot fail
Hello all,
Recently, my laptop crashed without a low battery warning.
Since then, I am having problems with laptop boot. The laptop powers on but all I see is black light on the screen. The HP logo is also not displayed, which i guess is that the bios is failing to load.
I tried this solution: remove power cord, remove battery, hold on power button for upto a minute, put back battery and power on. But not much luck. Sometimes it works, but most of the time it does not.
Majority of the time, I power on my laptop, the bios fails to load. But after repeatedly powering off & on , sometimes, I get lucky and the bios and windows loads.
This has created uncertainty that my laptop may not start at all the next time I power it on.
Your suggestions are welcome.
Thanks.
My notebook chargers when turned off but won’t charge when on
Help my laptop will only charge when turned off I’ve updated and uninstalled the charging thing and it hasn’t worked I’ve got 3 new chargers and it still won’t charge when powered on
Re: Laptop does not turn off at shutdown. Windows powers down but hardware continues to run.
Just updated BIOS to F.24-11/06/2018. Thought that might be a good idea and a possible fix. We'll see.

Could the CMOS/RTC battery be discharged?
This you already tried but worth repeating.
Step 1 Turn off the computer, press and hold the PWR button for 4 seconds.
Step 2 Leave only keyboard and mouse connected, disconnect all externally connected
devices such as Docking Station, USB storage devices, displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
Step 3 Press and Hold the Power button for 15 seconds to Hard Reset.
Step 4 Power on your PC, press Esc (repeatedly), then F2 at the prompt.
Choose System Tests (Fast Test does a 4 minute hardware check).
Step 5 Windows Logo key + Ctrl + Shift + B
Step 6 If you’re using multiple displays, try projecting video to a different monitor.
Press the Windows Logo key + P, select a display, and then press Enter.
